West Des Moines kitchen remodel by Home Healer Remodeling

Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating a new and wonderful kitchen and bathrooms!  You’ve taken these parts of my house from an outdated 1970's look to totally contemporary and elegant.

Thank you, too, for transforming my wish list for the house to a “done” list.  I always smile when I think about the times I told you my ideas about changing the house to make it more comfortable and attractive. No matter what ideas I came up with, you told me “no problem”, you could make it happen.  And you have indeed made it happen.

You’ve done several remodeling jobs for me and I’ll definitely keep coming back to you for jobs big and small.  It is a pleasure to work with someone who is a true craftsman and takes enormous care and pride in his work.  I know from experience that your excellent craftsmanship is matched with the rare (and wonderful) talent of keeping the projects on schedule all the way through to completion.  I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to me that I can count on you to follow the projects through to completion.  I’ve had some unpleasant experiences in the past with craftsmen who have left jobs unfinished or who wouldn’t respond to phone calls or didn’t clean up the worksite.  I know from experience that you keep in close communication throughout a project and respond right away to my questions or concerns.  You and your team treat my projects with the excellent care and attention I hoped for.

When you told me that it’d be about 6 weeks from demolition to completion of the kitchen, I was skeptical because friends who have remodeled their kitchens told me to expect at least 3-5 months.  You got the kitchen done in the time frame you estimated – even with some big surprises (like plumbing in the bulkhead and some wiring oddities).  My friends and family have so enjoyed watching the progress on the kitchen remodel by going to your website.  Now, they’re all waiting for the official unveiling – and expecting gourmet food to match the new gourmet kitchen!!

This project is being done for a recurring client who really likes us and we of course really like her!

It's demo day and the kithchen is about to be transformed...

Wow! did those cabinets come out fast?

Surprise! Look at all those copper drain pipes in the bulkhead... Now watch them disappear.

As you can now see, plumbing has been moved into the second floor joist area.

Electrical has been moved to accommodate the new cabinet design and drywall repair has begun.

All drywall work has been completed, ceiling and walls primed and painted and ready for cabinets.

Deliver of cabinets has been made and pantries go in first.

Cabinetry has been installed and trim work has begun. There was a bit of a delay due to color changes but we are back on track.

The homeowner really liked the dark orange color she originally had but once the cabinets were installed, it blended too much with the cabinets. Now you can see it has been changed to a warm yellow allowing the cabinetry to really be seen.

4.4.2008

Here more trim has been completed and the floor reinstalled.

We are now ready for appliances to be delivered later today.

We just keep plugging along...

Surface areas have been measured for granite, sink delivered and ready for granite to be cut and installed.

In the mean time as much trim carpentry and detail work that can be done will be focused on.

Once granite is installed, the tile back splash will be done, final detail work completed and the kitchen will be ready to be moved into.

4.17.2008

All right now, granite and more appliances have been installed.

Not much left to do.

Awaiting the base shoe, paint is drying to swap out electrical outlets, switches and cover plates.

All appliances are working and ready for use.

Though you may enjoy seeing the before and after side by side.
