Demolition: 7.1.2009

All walls are removed to allow us to re-frame for pocket doors and removeal of fiberglass stall shower.

Above, you can see first the layout of the garden tub, then, cabintery and tub removed.

Here, the remainder of the drywall has been removed to expose the framing. Keep in mind, there was no door at this location,

only a walk-through opening. On the right, we have reframed for a 32" pocket door and installed a new header.

This area is now ready for rough plumbing of the new shower.

This photo shows the opening that used to have a hinged door into the walk-in closet.

To save space, we framed this to also receive a pocket door.

This side will have a stained finish and the closet side will have a recessed mirror attached to the door .

This is a photo of the ceiling over what used to be the garden tub and is becoming the new walk-in shower.

We have centered a new exhaust fan and relocated recessed lights. The old light location will be drywalled and textured over.

The current casement windows will be replaced with a fixed unit that is on order.

This photo is showing the new location of the light and fan in the new washer/drier and toilet area.

Framing for a third pocket door is not installed yet so at to allow the plumbers to remove all the plumbing

from the old shower stall location.

Big changes in 3 days!

8.8.2009

Oaky, we have more big changes for you, and the homeowners!

All plumbing has been roughed-in, frames for pocket doors all installed, drywall completed, walls and ceiling primed and painted.

We even have most of the electrical trimmed out and benches framed for tile in the shower.

If you look through the pics of the shower you can also see we replaced the window in the shower area from casement to fixed obscure.

Tile work is also now completed but I'm holding out for a while to get you excited to see the end result, at the Tour of Remodeled Homes!

See you again soon!
