Bathroom / Laundry area remodel

This is a current project in which we are doing some major shifting around of the laundry area.

Washer / drier area accessed from an upstairs bedroom.         Closet  accessed from hall.                   Bathroom wall backing to back of W/D area.

Drywall is removed, exposing the wall studs and bathroom backing to washer area.

Now we begin the process of removing bulkheads from over the vanity and tub/shower area

and shifting walls to move access to washer from bedrooom to bathroom.

The first step is to enlarge the drain pipes to help prevent the possibility of overflowing the pipes when wsher is discharging.

Step 2 is to build the new walls and platform to raise the washer/drier and reinstall the plumbing to W/D.

We also installed a new floor drain to help in capturing water in the event of the washer overflowing.

By moving the opening and access to W/D from bedroom to bathroom it allowed us to take left over space and make a 30" closet in the bedroom. We are also showing here the new drier vent which will be hiden inside the platform and wall to the outside.

Here  is what the bedroom area now looks like without laundry area and new closet  and shallower hall closet space for linens.

And this is now the laundry area accessed from the bathroom!

And here is the new vanity with new tile floor .
